It’s not only about fasting; it’s a call to action. Ramadan enjoins us to improve ourselves, redefine our priorities, and strengthen our self-discipline, physically and spiritually, empowering us to make choices that nurture our well-being and lead to a more fulfilling and purposeful existence.

In Ramadan, we reflect on our actions, choices, and connection with Allah (SWT). We delve into our actions, our priorities, and how closely they align with our values and obligations. Is our heart filled with the warmth of Allah’s love and gratitude? Do our interactions with others echo compassion? Are our financial choices guided by ethics and Islamic law? This introspection becomes the turning point, a chance to rewrite the narrative of our characters.

Here we will delve into the heart of Ramadan. Through the inspiring stories of Sadiq and Muhammad who share with us what Ramadan truly means to them, we’ll explore how this holy month sparks personal transformation. We will get to know how this holy month inspires self-reflection and prompts us to reevaluate our lives, actions, and intentions, ultimately emerging as better versions of ourselves.

What does observing Ramadan mean to you on a deeper level?

Sadiq: Every Ramadan, I get emotional thinking about life and how I can help others, but last Ramadan was truly special for me. I made a pact to reflect deeply on my life and how I could help those around me. I realized how different people are and how we never truly know what someone else is going through. During that Ramadan, I came across an elderly woman crying on the street. I felt a pang of sadness but couldn’t gather the courage to approach her. That was my turning point. From that moment, I committed to helping people around me. I started spending my evenings serving meals to those who needed it most in my community. The gratitude in their eyes and the smiles on their faces touched me deeply. I decided to do that every Ramadan and to always do good to others, sometimes a smile can make a difference.

Muhammad: My focus used to be solely on fasting and reciting the Quran during Ramadan month. However, a couple of years ago, I made a decision to transform Ramadan into a time of self-reflection and assessment. As an investor who has been engaged in diverse investments for a long time, it was during Ramadan in 2020 that a friend’s story opened my eyes and compelled me to look deeper into my financial choices as a Muslim. This personal transformation has become linked to Ramadan for me, as I use this month to assess myself and make new commitments. I Educated myself on halal finance, I won’t lie it wasn’t easy, but aligning my finances with my faith really brought me a sense of liberation.
